Even though this Folk Victorian style home was new construction, it was an excellent candidate for a model. The owner commissioned it to be crafted as a table top model. The fish tail siding, unique balustrade, and all of the spindle work were great challenges. The fish tail siding effect was accomplished by gluing each piece of basswood individually onto luan plywood. The support columns for the porch were turned on a miniature lathe and the balustrades were carved individually and glued together for the railing around the porch.
